Solskjear faces delimma as pogba, martial and shaw remain sidelined for the match agianst west ham due to injury

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Luke Shaw will miss Manchester United’s Premier League fixture with West Ham United on Sunday, while revealing three other first-team players are doubts.

Shaw has missed the last three games with a hamstring injury and the boss has admitted he will not return in time for the trip to the London Stadium.

Ole also told reporters after Thursday's FC Astana match that Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial look set to miss the encounter through respective knocks
James was one of nine players who started against the Foxes last weekend but were absent from the XI for the midweek Europe League victory over FC Asatana.

However, on Sunday, Ole is expected to revert to a similar side to the one which began the clash with Leicester, with Andreas Pereira and Aaron Wan-Bissaka among the players who could return.

The boss told MUTV: “Andreas and Aaron trained today [Thursday] so they should be ready and the rest of them were on the bench.”

David De Gea and Victor Lindelof - who both signed contract extensions during the week - are likely to be back in the starting XI, along with the likes of Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay. When asked if he thought the French duo would be available for the clash with the Hammers, Ole replied: “Not really, no. They have not been training yet.

“Luke won’t be ready,” he added.

The Norwegian also gave an update on winger Daniel James, who picked up an ankle problem in last week’s victory over Leicester City.

“I don’t know [if he'll be fit],” Ole conceded. “[He’s] not trained for the past few days. Hopefully he will, but we're not sure. We will have a recovery day tomorrow [Friday] and see on Saturday.”

Bayern Munich part ways with Ancelotti

Carlo Ancelotti has been sacked by Bayern Munich after their 3-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions league, according to Sky sources.

The club's Board members held a meeting to discuss Ancelotti's future on Thursday afternoon and according to reports he has now left the Bavarians.

The former Real madrid manager had been in charge at the Allianz Arena for nearly 15 months after taking over as Pep Guardiola's successor in July 2016.

Ancelotti led Bayern to their fifth consecutive Bundesliga title in his first season in charge but his side were eliminated at the quarter-final stage of the Champions League against his former club Real Madrid, while they were beaten 3-2 by Borussia Dortmund in the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal Cup.

Ancelotti had come under fire  after a 2-0 defeat to Hoffenheim in the early stages of the season, which was later followed by a 2-2 home draw against Wolfsburg but the icing on the cake was  PSG's emphatic 3-0 thrashing in the champions league group stage Yesterday.

Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge talked of "consequences" after the defeat to PSG.

"It's a loss we have to talk about, we have to analyse, from which we have to draw consequences in clear text form," Rummenigge told FCBayern.tv.

"I think what we saw this evening was not Bayern Munich. I think we all agree on that."

If I take a look to the right or left, then there is nothing to misunderstand or to interpret wrong. I think it's important to turn things around after this loss, to present as Bayern Munich and to show we are a team, [the one] which performed well in Europe and in Germany last year. That's where we have to continue.

"Bayern have made an unconvincing start to the season.

Ancelotti was forced to defend his team selection after the defeat having left Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben and Mats Hummels on the bench, while Jerome Boateng was not included in the squad.

"I don't think my team selection was risky," he said.

"I thought a lot about what the best team to play was.

"I know I will get criticism, that's fine. I thought it was a good line-up for this game."

Real Madrid outclass Barca to win Super Copa

A listless first-half performance ended any hope of a Barcelona comeback in the Supercopa de Espana, the Catalans falling to a 2-0 second-leg defeat to lose 5-1 on aggregate against Real Madrid.

Marco Asensio wasted no time as he spectacularly fired the home side in front after four minutes on Wednesday, with Madrid dominating a team still adapting to life after Neymar.

Barca found goal-scoring opportunities hard to come by and Karim Benzema outwitted Samuel Umtiti to double Madrid's lead on the night shortly before half-time at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Barcelona improved after the interval – Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez both hit the woodwork – but their Neymar-less future remains a concerning work in progress for new boss Ernesto Valverde, as the club continue their pursuit of a suitable and - on this evidence - much-needed replacement. Those efforts may take on greater urgency after Suarez appeared to hobble through the closing stages.

Mixed feelings for CR7 as Madrid wins first leg super copa clash

The Portugal star came off the bench to blast home the third goal of the visitors' 3-1 win at Camp Nou but earned a second yellow card for going to ground in the penalty area two minutes later, having earlier been booked for taking his shirt off in celebration.

Zinedine Zidane's side took the lead early in the second half through an own goal from Gerard Pique but Barca levelled thanks to Lionel Messi's penalty, which was won in controversial fashion by Luis Suarez.

Ronaldo put Madrid back ahead with a spectacular strike but was dismissed within two minutes of that goal and risked further punishment when he pushed the referee in the back before departing the field.

Barca pushed for a second equaliser late on but were undone by Marco Asensio's brilliant strike on the break, meaning they have it all to do at the Santiago Bernabeu next Wednesday in the first Supercopa tie between these sides since 2012.

Lukaku had netted in his first league appearances for both West Brom and Everton and he repeated that feat on Sunday, getting on the end of a Marcus Rashford pass to give the hosts a deserved lead in the 33rd minute.

Nemanja Matic also began to swiftly justify the fee paid by United to reunite the Serbian with his former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, impressing throughout at the base of midfield and completing a timely interception to trigger the counter-attack that ended in Lukaku's first goal.

The Belgian centre-forward doubled his tally eight minutes into the second half, when he headed home a Henrikh Mkhitaryan free-kick.

Substitute Anthony Martial and midfielder Pogba added gloss to the scoreline by scoring late on, leaving Mourinho and the home faithful cheered by the sight of a dominant display to open the campaign as they seek to challenge for a first league title since 2012-13.

Lille fields 3 GK'S in a single game

But to have two in the same match is pure heaven - and that is exactly what happened in Strasbourg's 3-0 victory over Lille on Sunday!

Two early injuries for the Ligue 1 side forced Marcelo Bielsa to ring the changes. And the Argentine was skating on thin ice when he made his third, tactical substitution whilst still in the first half.

The gamble ultimately backfired when goalkeeper Mike Maignan was sent off for clashing with Benjamin Corgnet when the ball was out of play.

Striker Nicolas de Preville went in goal and made a fine save from a one-on-one with Saadi , but shortly afterwards conceded afterwards from a corner as Strasbourg opened the scoring.

De Preville was then forced to retrieve his outfield shirt as Bielsa looked for the draw, swapping the gloves with Ibrahim Amadou.

Amadou fared little better, guessing the right way on a contentious penalty but losing out to Dimitri Lienard before Jonas Martin notched his second with a thunderbolt strike that was really wasted on the makeshift gloveman.

Neymars scores and assist in sensational PSG debut

The Brazil star took his place on the left-hand side of a front three alongside Cavani and Angel Di Maria and looked lively throughout against opponents who were happy to sit deep and defend in numbers until PSG found a breakthrough thanks to Jordan Ikoko's bizarre own goal.

Right-back Ikoko, a PSG academy graduate, hit a mis-directed pass back towards goalkeeper Karl-Johan Johnsson and it was too strong and crept in via the upright.

Not to be upstaged, Neymar had a more direct influence on PSG's second as his delightful throughball released Cavani to coolly beat Johnsson.

And the most expensive footballer on the planet was not done there as he tapped home into an empty net with eight minutes remaining following good work from Cavani.

PSG on Friday confirmed the Brazilian, who joined the club in a €222 million move, had been cleared to play after his transfer was officially ratified following the receipt of his international transfer certificate by the French Football Federation.

And the 25-year-old has now been included in the squad for Sunday's meeting at the Stade de Roudourou as PSG look to make it two wins from two to start the new league season.

Neymar was a spectator last weekend as PSG opened the campaign with a 2-0 win over Amiens at the Parc des Princes.

Barca set to complete €40M deal for paulinho

Paulinho has said goodbye to his Guangzhou Evergrande team-mates as he nears a €40 million move to Barcelona, as per strong reports.

It was revealed in June that the 29-year-old had emerged as a top target for the Camp Nou club, but a protracted chase saw three offers from Catalonia knocked back, with the most recent one totalling €25m.

Barca have refused to give up in their pursuit, though, and despite Guangzhou's desire to hold on to Paulinho, are set to snap him up after putting together a package which meets the release clause in his contract.

The midfielder bid farewell to everyone at Guangzhou after Saturday's training session and will miss their next match against Henan Jianye as he will be flying out to Spain on Sunday for his medical.

Having made a move in the summer of 2015, Paulinho won two league titles, two Super Cups, one domestic cup and the AFC Champions League during his time in Asia.

Zidane pens New Madrid Deal

Zinedine Zidane has committed his future to Real Madrid by signing a three-year contract extension with the La Liga champions.

The new deal will keep the Frenchman at Santiago Bernabeu through to 2020.

"My story with Real Madrid is deeper than contracts and signatures," Zidane told reporters when announcing the fresh terms at a press conference on Saturday.

"I'm happy to be linked with the club. But the contract doesn't mean anything. You can sign for 10-20 years. I know where I am and what to do. In one year, maybe I won't be here. Real Madrid and I are not going to argue, never.

Zidane will be hoping to add more major honours to his glittering CV over the course of the next three seasons, having enjoyed considerable success at the Real helm so far.

Mourinho set to sign another striker

Manchester United are closing on a deal to sign Bruno Amorim, according to the teenage Portuguese striker’s club Oliveirense.

Amorim has been scouted by United after impressing for Oliveirense in the Portuguese second division last season and has shown enough to warrant a move to Old Trafford.

The 19-year-old is expected to be part of Nicky Butt’s Under-23 squad, rather than pushing for a place in Jose Mourinho’s first-team plans.

“He had been promoted to the main squad but [United’s] scout was alert and decided to take him there,” Oliveirense’s communications director Antonio Jose Leite told Agencia Lusa via Noticias ao Minuto.

“At this time the business is 90 per cent done and he may have an excellent contract ahead.
“The contract will shortly be announced, but he is a future bet at United.”

Lacazzete scores record debut goal

Alexandre Lacazette scored the joint-fastest goal on the opening day of a Premier League season by heading home after 94 seconds of Arsenal's game against Leicester City.

The Gunners' record signing brought Emirates Stadium to its feet by steering Mohamed Elneny's cross past Kasper Schmeichel.

It brings him level with former Arsenal favourite Kevin Campbell, who breached Manchester City swiftly at Highbury in 1994, while Colombia great Faustino Asprilla also punished Sheffield Wednesday in the second minute of the 1997-98 campaign while at Newcastle United.

The goal also continued Lacazette's phenomenal record in the first game of top-flight seasons over recent years - one that Arsenal needed to add to after Leicester forwards Shinji Okazaki and Jamie Vardy turned the game on its head.

Danny Welbeck brought the Gunners level just before half-time and, though Vardy put Leicester back into the lead, Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud came off the bench to secure a thrilling 4-3 victory.

Arsenal Grabs Sensational 4-3 Win in Epl opener

Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud came off the bench snatch victory from the jaws of defeat for Arsenal, who opened the 2017-18 Premier League season with a topsy-turvy 4-3 thriller against Leicester City.

Record signing Alexandre Lacazette handed the ideal start to boss Arsene Wenger, back at Emirates Stadium for the first time since signing his much-debated two-year contract extension, by opening the scoring after 94 seconds, but matters quickly threatened to unravel.

Wenger's gamble to field a back three featuring one recognised centre-back collapsed in a display of complete defensive incompetence. Shinji Okazaki was the initial beneficiary with a fifth-minute equaliser.

England striker Jamie Vardy, who was heavily linked with Arsenal 12 months ago, scored a brace either side of a Danny Welbeck leveller that showed Arsenal's rearguard to be equally dreadful from open play and set-piece situations.

But it was a different story at the other end as Wenger called upon additional firepower in the form of Aaron Ramsey and Giroud to turn the match around inside the final seven minutes and ward off a return to last season's febrile atmosphere of protest on home turf – at least for the time being.
